What You Will Learn

During the two days, coaches will learn to accurately and effectively assess the climber’s physical qualities, including finger strength, contact strength, and endurance.

In a hands-on environment, coaches will also learn the components of practical and effective warm-up exercises and procedures before on and off-wall training.

Coaches will then learn how to coach, cue, demonstrate effectively, and program exercises for their athletes.

Exercises range from simple bodyweight exercises to proper deadlifting and squatting technique as well as on-wall training protocols.

Coaches will learn how to manage their team's physical preparedness throughout the competitive calendar year and integrate it effectively into their team's skill training.

Coaches will also learn the important nuances of training the youth to provide effective strength training that is safe and health promoting.

Most educational experiences are simply lecture, course, or book based. Camp4 Performance Certified coaches must complete a thorough proficiency process to pass the course. Coaches are provided with written material to read and study before taking a PASS/FAIL online test before attending the in-person course. The course concludes with coaches passing a practical examination, testing the coach’s ability to demonstrate and coach exercises with proficiency and think critically in real time.

  • Is this course online or in person?

    The certification courses are in person. The online material shown above is the pre-course content that must be completed before attending the course live.

  • How do I become officially certified?

    Participants must complete the pre-course material, pass the online exam with an 80%, attend the live course, and pass the in-person practical exam at the end of day 2. Successfully completing all task rewards you as a Certified Camp4 Performance Coach!

  • Who is this course for?

    This course is for all current, and aspiring, climbing coaches who are seeking to further their knowledge and expertise in strength & conditioning coaching for the climbing athlete. The curriculum focuses on the youth competitive athlete but the information applies to adult coaching, personal training, group classes, etc.

  • What is the process & itinerary?

    Once you sign up for the course you will gain instant access to the pre-course content. Please complete the content before arriving at the course in-person. The course is 2 days from 8am to ~4pm each day with a 1 hour lunch break ~12pm each day. Please plan travel/flights accordingly!

  • Cancellation and Refund Policy

    C4P reserves the right to cancel/reschedule a course if the minimum of 12 participants is not achieved by 30 days from the course date. C4P will refund the participant fee ONLY. C4P is not financially responsible for refunding travel, and other individual expenses. The cost of the course is refundable if requested 10 days or more from the start date of the course. The cost of the course is not refundable for registrations or cancellations within 10 days of a live course. If you are a no show and we have no communication with you before the course you will forfeit your course fee. C4P strongly recommends that you refrain from booking travel until 30 days prior to the event in case of possible cancellation due to low enrollment. If we plan to cancel the course, C4P will contact you directly to notify you.
